About Julia Rose

Mom, wife, friend, and out of the blue....artist. Who knew that attending a ‘paint your pet’ event at a local brewery (let’s be real, I was there for the beers) could bring about a revelation that changed the path I was on. My dad passed away in 2017, around the same time I found myself painting more, as a much needed therapy outlet. My dad was an artist himself, and when I look back, I think how cool it is that he seemed to send me the artist vibes that I needed to get started on this unlikely and amazing journey. He passed away only days before I discovered my talent, and as much as I wish I could share this with him, I know he’s the one who shared it with me.  After posting a few of my pet paintings on social media, the requests for commission pieces starting pouring in! Over the next five years I practiced, enhanced my skills, and realized that art was truly my passion! I specialize in pet portraits which allows me to bring so much joy into my clients hearts. Being told that I have captured the spirit of their furry family member is a gift I am so grateful to be able to give.

In 2022 I took not only a big deep breath but a big leap of faith and left my job to pursue my full-time art career. What a joy and gift it has been to be able to follow my passion! In addition, I’ve found a true happiness in the quality time I can spend with my husband, the love of my life, and my incredible kiddos.  Few can say they spend their days creating beautiful art and bringing joy to a world that so desperately needs more joy. In addition to pet portraits, I’m exploring other areas that ring true to my soul. Mainly, anything related to my beautiful home state, Montana! I can be found in my backyard home art studio (thanks hubby), painting live at local art shows, or relaxing around the camp fire brainstorming my next creation. I am a beautiful mess, a work in progress, an endless scheme of color and idea. Come along with me, on this journey I am so thankful to be on.
