Hi, I'm Julia.
I'm a Montana artist, wife, mom of two, and someone who discovered entirely by accident that I could paint.
Seriously. I had no idea.
In 2017, I went to a "paint your pet" night at a local brewery. I was mostly there for the beer. I left wondering where this ability to paint had been hiding my entire life.
The timing of that discovery has always meant something to me. My dad had passed away just days before. He was an artist, and while I wish more than anything that I could have called him and said, "Dad, apparently I can paint," I like to think he had something to do with it.
So I kept painting.
I fell in love with weddings.
And they changed my art business completely.
Somewhere along the way, I found live wedding painting-and it felt like everything I loved about being an artist came together.
I get to combine art, people, storytelling and emotion, taking one fleeting day and turning it into something a couple can keep for the rest of their lives.
Today, weddings are the heart of my business. I travel throughout Montana and beyond, painting celebrations as they happen and creating live guest illustrations for the people who came to celebrate.
For me, it's never been about creating a perfect copy of a photograph.
I want to capture how the day felt.
